• 1981 - The organisation was established in and incorporated under the Associations Act as Barwon Association for Youth Support and Accommodation (BAYSA).
• 1996 - Amalgamation with the Boys Employment Movement retaining the legal name of the Barwon Association for Youth Support and Accommodation.
• 1998 -  Migration to Corporations Law – new name BAYSA Limited trading as BAYSA Youth Services.
• 2006 -  Changed trading name to Barwon Youth with new logo,  BAYSA Ltd remains as the legal entity name.

Four distinct service streams have evolved –

• Youth Support (Youth Justice, Community Development, Mentors Pre & Post Release Service),
• Education Training and Employment,
• Homelessness Services,
• Drug Prevention and Treatment Programs.
